Peoples Democratic Party And Confused Leaders.
The Peoples Democratic Party has come under criticisms for appointing an ex-convict, Chief Bode George, into a panel to reorganize its Board of Trustees. Due to the fact that Bode George was convicted of Fraud and spent 2 years in prison. Legal practitioners as well as civil rights groups, Anti-Corruption Network and Coalition against Corrupt Leaders, on Sunday, condemned the PDP’s action, saying the party had no respect for the public.
Some are quoted to have said that PDP is encouraging and legalizing corruption. Meanwhile there are reports that President Goodluck Jonathan might drop Bamanga Tukur as PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, when he was only just appointed. Jonathan is believed to have agreed to yield to a piece of advice by his strategists to ditch Tukur and go for a younger candidate without “as many enemies as Tukur.” And that if Jonathan still wants the support of Governors then he should stop backing Bamanga Tukur.
CULLED FROM PUNCH AND THIS DAY.
