The father of a three-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself in the head with a loaded 40 caliber Smith and Wesson backed the right to bear arms hours after losing his son on Sunday.
Brian Holbrook, of Michigan, said: 'I have nothing wrong with guns, I will still support the Second Amendment' [sic]. Damon died after finding a loaded gun in a closet at the family home pulled the trigger.
Paramedics tried to revive Damon but was pronounced dead in the hospital emergency room at 5 p.m on Sunday.

Children Been Evacuated To The School Field.
Shots have been fired at an elementary school in DeKalb County, Georgia, according to US media. Children and staff have been evacuated from the building. Police have suspect in custody, the superintendent of McNair Elementary School in Decatur, Georiga, told AP. SWAT team members and police officers arrived at the scene of the incident shortly after a report of shots fired at the school. Following the reports, TV footage from local outlets showed that children had been safely evacuated from the building and were sitting outside in a field. After the evacuation, children – safe, but scared – were loaded onto buses. There have been no immediate reports on casualties or injuries. The man in custody was reportedly armed, but wanted to speak to police rather than hurt anyone. Thank God no one was hurt and the shooter is in custody.

Jamie Eagle, 20, who was born a boy, and Louis Davies, 25, who was born a girl and named Samantha, say their decision to tell their story - first in The Sun, then on ITV's This Morning - was the correct one, as they are now helping 'to change history'. The couple - both of whom are 'transitioning' between genders - live together in Bridgend, south Wales. They told Kate Hilpern of the Independent that living in a small town and always 'getting nasty comments' prepared them somewhat for the abuse they now receive both in person and online. Jamie says she can't go out along as she is often followed or shouted at by people in passing cars. Internet trolls plague her, too, and she has started taking antidepressants. But she says: 'It's like gay people, black people and women. None of these groups would have the rights they do if they hadn't fought to change negative stereotypes and perceptions. Gunmen suspected to be Islamist militant of Boko Haram earlier today raided a police station in Kaduna killing yet-to be determined number of police officers. A police source who witnessed the attack told Saharareporters that the gunmen stormed Kajuru Police Station, situated in Maraban Kajuru, Kajuru local government area along Kaduna-Kachia Road in the predominantly christian southern parts of Kaduna State. Chris Brown Concerts Cancelled In Canada.
Four Canadian concert dates to be headlined by Chris Brown have been canceled, the promoter involved announced Monday (Aug. 19). Drop Group Entertainment owner Stephen Tobin decided to scrap the entire Energy Rush music festival following "ongoing conversation and consultation" with the R&B star. "In light of the performer's recent personal and health-related issues, a decision has been made to cancel all four scheduled performances. He was due to perform in Toronto, Winnipeg, Saint John and Halifax this month. Publicist Nicole Perna expressed the singer's regret that he will be unable to perform. Nearly a handful of sponsors pulled out of the Halifax stop because Brown was on board. Halifax's Mayor Mike Savage admitted to not being "a fan" of the singer's "behavior in the past" and wanted to be consulted before Breezy was booked to appear. The Energy Rush festival has been rescheduled for next year. Nigeria’s anti-terrorist Joint Task Force (JTF) operating in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State and a stronghold of the militant Boko Haram sect, yesterday lost another officer in an encounter with members of the extremist Islamist group. Two sources who demanded anonymity disclosed the development to SaharaReporters. One source revealed that the army officer, Lieutenant Haggai Bitrus, died when the Islamist group launched a surprise attack on JTF operatives. The late lieutenant was described as an indigene of Plateau State. Though the Nigerian Army haven't released any official statement, Friends have already started leaving tributes to him on Facebook.
