James Avery - who played Uncle Phil in TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - has died. The 68-year-old died from complications following open-heart surgery in Glendale, California, on Tuesday afternoon. Fellow actor Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Avery's son, Carlton Banks, in the classic 1990s comedy series, paid his tribute on his Facebook page. "The world has lost a truly special man. I am very saddened to say that James Avery has passed," he wrote. "Even though he played my father on TV, he was a wonderful father figure to me in life. He will be deeply missed." Watching fresh prince would never be same for me. Rest in peace Uncle Phil. We would miss you.
