Gov Of Gombe State Survives Ghastly Accident.
The convoy of the Governor of Gombe State, Mr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo was involved in a fatal car crash late Wednesday night that killed one person and left six others wounded. The crash occurred along Gombe-Yola highway as the Governor made his way back to the state capital after touring projects at Shingom Local Government Area. Witnesses report that a speeding pickup van caused the accident when it lost control and rammed into a police van and a Peugeot 406 sedan in Dankwambo’s convoy. The Governor’s car was however not involved in the multiple car accident. Meanwhile, in another development, the Majority Leader of the Gombe House of Assembly was assassinated same Wednesday night by yet to be identified gunmen. Alhaji Abdulhamid Waziri Doho was shot dead at close range by a gang of six gunmen inside his residence located opposite the Gombe State University, an associate of the politician, Adamu Yakubu told Newsmen. The associate said the gunmen stormed Doho’s residence at about 8.30pm.
The slain politician’s daughter was also shot in her left arm. She is being treated at the Federal Medical Centre Gombe.
