God Has Been Kind To Nigeria- Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday said God had been kind to Nigeria inspite of the multifarious challenges confronting her. He advised Nigerians to also be kind to themselves.
He said the country was lucky to have been endowed with natural resources which had made it great among the comity of nations.
The former president, who addressed newsmen in Abeokuta, stressed that Nigeria had the potential to rank among the greatest countries of the world in the nearest future.
He said, “God has been so generous to us. Many nations are not as richly blessed like we do.
“The first thing God did that surprised us most was that He dropped two big rivers down to confluence Nigeria. He then later used gold, bauxite and so many limestone in abundance to beautify everywhere in the country. He then later dropped oil under our soil near the water and later in the water.
“I believe there are good people who will be able to manage it, maybe later. But the earlier we are there, the better and I am sure we will be there. We will be there because God has been kind to us; we only need to be kind to ourselves. God will help us.”
He said it would be wrong for anyone to write Nigeria off, lamenting poor management of the nation’s resources by its leaders.
Obasanjo urged the nation’s leaders to harness all its God given potential for its development.
He called on Nigerians to continue to have hope and enduring faith in the country.
“I know we will get there very soon,’’ the former president said.
Hmmmmmmmmm i wonder what he did when he was in power.........i have no WORDS.
