President Obama Said He's Quit Smoking Because Of His Wife.
US President Barack Obama said on Monday that he stopped smoking out of fear of his wife, in an unwitting admission captured by a loose microphone. The US leader, taking part in an event on the sidelines of the annual UN General Assembly on the importance of civil society, was exchanging small talk at the end of his remarks.
In a recording taped by CNN, Obama is standing up after the event and asking the man next to him if he had given up smoking. When the question is returned to him, Obama, in a light-hearted tone with a smile on his lips, said: “I haven’t had a cigarette in probably six years. That’s because am scared of my wife. Thats very commendable i wish alot of men adopted that stance , i walked out of a relationship because of smoking mind you he never used to smoke when we first met all of a sudden he was overdoing it. We dated on and off for 14 years and we knew it was heading to the altar, but bros-mi didnt want to change and i could not continue inhaling secondary smoke or having smoke as perfume, it was repulsive to kiss him and whenever he knew he wanted to kiss me he didnt smoke at all. I walked out in the end and am glad i did.
