Young Nigerian In Diaspora Madu Eneli Becomes An Author.
Just like other kids his age, 13-year old Madu Eneli was excited and nervous about leaving behind all that he was familiar with in elementary school and beginning a new journey in middle school. Madu decided to take what he learned about making the big move and created a very special road map for kids like him to help them get ready for middle school.
The 8th grader has penned a book called, “Am I Ready for Middle School?” The book is intended to give young teens tips on how to navigate through middle school and is loaded with topics such as seeking academic help and getting through the social scenes of recess and lunch. “I don’t think there’s another book like this that speaks to middle school kids,” Madu told the Harker Heights Herald.
Madu seems to be navigating the roads of middle school just fine so far. He was selected by NBC to attend the 2012 Education Nation Summit in New York City and also selected to attend the Middle School Presidential Inauguration Conference in Washington, D.C. in January 2013.
The description on the back of Madu’s book is not only good advice for upcoming middle schoolers, but good advice for anyone. It reads, “Now is the time to dream big, work hard, have fun, and make new friends.” At least this is a Nigerian doing us proud in Obodo Oyinbo.
