President Jonathan Orders Forensic Audit Of State Oil Firms.

Perhaps after reading the damning Report BBC News did on the President not doing enough to tackle corruption. President Jonathan has ordered a forensic audit of the state oil firm following claims that $20bn (£12bn) had gone missing. 
Nigeria's oil sector is seen as notoriously opaque and corrupt, correspondents say. Mr Sanusi was suspended last month after he told a senate committee that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) had failed to account for $20bn of the $67bn of oil sold between January 2012 and July 2013.

Another Student Is Knocked Unconscious As She Inhales Poisonous Substance

Students of Ogba Junior Grammar School, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, are now studying in fear as another female student inhaled poisonous gas on Wednesday and collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
Thirteen students of the school had collapsed  last Thursday after inhaling the poisonous gas. This is the third time such incident would happen in the school.

Lagos State Goverment Spends N800 Million To Light Up Lagos - State Commissioner for Works.

Lagos State Commissioner for Works, Obafemi Hamzat has said that Lagos State Goverment spends N800 million a month to power the street lights. Even when we have electricity supply, you will find out that the street lights still runs on diesel for most of the time. 800 Million to light up Lagos State, i thought the street ligts were solar powered so why generators and how much fuel/diesel do they use. Isnt this a waste....cant a permanent solution be found for lighting the state. That 800 Million can be used to sort out the Electricity situation in Lagos and we would have light. This is wasteful spending by the so called leaders much as a applaud Fashola on this note he has goofed 800 Million when our roads are bad, insecurity, no health care. Maybe i am just ranting. But i have right to....this is wasteful spending.

President Jonathans Cousin Rescued By Police Force.

President Goodluck Jonathan’s uncle, Chief Nengite Nitabai, 70, kidnapped on 23 February by gunmen has been rescued by the police in Bayelsa State. Bayelsa Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Okara, who confirmed this in Yenagoa Thursday, revealed that Nitabai was rescued in Odioma community in Brass Local Government Area of the state. How i wish the Police Force was that swift with rescuing ordinary citizens kidnapped. Thank God for his safety. PM News.

Indian Mother Too Poor To Have An Ultrasound Gives Birth To Conjoined Twins.

A baby with two heads has been born to a woman in India after she was too poor to have an ultrasound during her pregnancy. Urmila Sharma, 28, gave birth to conjoined twins at Cygnus JK Hindu Hospital in Sonipat, Haryana, in northern India, yesterday morning. The baby, born via C-section and weighing 7lbs 7oz, has two heads, two necks and two spines but only one body.

Hopes of finding the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 have been raised after satellite images showing possible debris from the plane were released on a Chinese government website.

The images – taken at about 11am on Sunday but released on Wednesday – appear to show "three suspected floating objects" of varying sizes, the largest about 24 metres by 22 metres, the national defence technology site reported. Pray for Flight MH370.

Nigerians In South Africa Plan Petition Against Ill Treatment Of Nigerians By Police.

The Nigerian Union in South Africa on Wednesday says it is mobilising Nigerians in that country to sign a petition against police brutality on Nigerians. The President of the Union, Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, made this known in a telephone interview from Pretoria, South Africa, with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Anyene said that three Nigerians had been killed by South African police since the beginning of this year.
