The remains of about 150 Southern Kaduna natives, were, yesterday, buried in a mass grave in Unguwant Gata, Maroa Chiefdom of Karua Local Government Area of the state, according to a local chief from the area. Sankwai, Tekum and Unguwan Gata villages in Maroa Chiefdom were, Saturday, invaded by what villagers said were Fulani gunmen, killing no fewer than 200 natives and burning the three villages, after plundering them.
It was gathered that all Southern Kaduna villages were sombre, over the attacks, as special prayers were offered for the deceased in all churches.
The death toll from Friday night’s attack on residents of Maisankwai, Tyekum, Maikakpang and Angwan Kura villages in Bondong district of Kaura local government area of Kaduna State has risen from 100 to 114. The bodies were all buried inside three big holes, as over 5,000 persons are now displaced from their houses. One Mr Timothy, who witnessed the burial of the entire members of his household, told LEADERSHIP that he will never forgive their killers.
“This killing of my entire family is a terrible thing that has happened to me, and I will live in memory of this act. I will never forgive the killers of my family,” he said. Vanguard/Leadership
When would all these unwarranted attacks end.....when. May they rest in peace. Amen
