Senator Ndume Insists Air Force Dropped Bombs On His Motorcade.
A senator, Ali Ndume, has faulted the Nigerian Air Force for denying that its fighter plane dropped bombs on his motorcade. Mr. Ndume (PDP Borno South) said this in response to a statement by the Air Force that its aircraft did not target the lawmaker’s motorcade. Mr. Ndume, at a news briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, said NAF had no basis to deny the incident, ”Now the Air Force is saying nothing happened.
They are lying, I can say that now,” the senator said. “The objective of this briefing is to clarify the situation and not to join issues with anybody. “I don’t want to say anything to heat up the polity but just to state my own side of the story,” he said. PREMIUM TIMES had reported how a bomb dropped by a Nigerian Airforce jet narrowly missed Mr. Ndume’s convoy in Borno State last weekend.
