I saw this in a daily news paper and couldnt help but laugh because i dont know why anyone would lie just because they want to claim asylum. A Nigerian woman claims that she killed a snake in her home country of Nigeria and would not be safe if she went back to Nigeria because her fellow villagers worship snakes and would kill her if she returns. In her home town she is known as a snake killer. Maybe i am the ignorant one but can anyone enlighten me if theres a place in Nigeria where snakes are worshiped. I know snakes are known as family totems in Benin Republic but in Nigeria i have not hear that before.
