19-year-old Trayvon Christian was racially profiled at Barneys while buying a $350 Salvatore Ferragamo belt. However, following the purchase, he was stopped by undercover officers that were allegedly called on by a Barneys sales clerk who believed the transaction was fraudulent. Jay Z has found himself in hot water as people began to question his motives when he did not immediately renounce his collaborative charity project with the high-end retailer.
The 19-year-old is now blasting the rapper for not standing up to the racist high-end retailer:“I thought that he [Jay Z] could relate to what had happened…to what happened to me.” When asked if he’s disappointed Jay Z decided to keep working with Barneys, he says: “Right.”Trayon’s attorney says Ferragamo has stepped up to the plate and did the RIGHT thing by mailing him the same exact belt he was racially profiled over.
