MFM Church Detains Sahara Reporters Publisher Omoyele Sowore

Mr Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara reporters  who attempted to report a New Year’s Eve crossover night service at the church headquarters along the popular Lagos-Ibadan express road. He was harassed, molested and detained illegally. He wanted to cover the annual cross-over night which over one million people attend.
He was duly identified and allowed to proceed to the altar while the G.O Dr Olukoya was ministering and was mobbed by ushers, security officer, pastors and security details. Mr. Sowore was then dragged to the back of the altar by a mob that threatened at first to smash his camera. The mob later handed him over to the police and the SSS operatives attached to the church. The argument attracted more church members, one of who ranted that he would wear down the Jesus in him and transform into Satan to kill Mr. Sowore. For wearing neck beads designed of cowry shells  (which he wears to showcase his ‘Africanness’), some of the church security operatives described Mr. Sowore as a ‘sinner’, ‘satan incarnate’, among other vilifying christening. He was taken detained in the MFM detention site for four hours and threatened to be flogged. The Divisional  Police Officer of Ibafo Police Station which MFM is under their jurisdiction was inbited in and he properly identified Mr Sowore and advised the church members to settle amicably to avoid the issue blowing out of proportion. The DPO disappeared after telling them that Mr Sowore was genuine and asking them to Google Sahara Reporters. When they found out who he was they pleaded that the pictures and videos be deleted but Mr Sowore refused. He was promptly released. Omoyele you sef for take permission now.
