There have been heavy gunfire exchanges around the vicinity of Nigeria’s presidential palace and the headquarters of the Department of State Services in the Asokoro District of Abuja in the past one hour, security sources and residents of the area said.The expansive headquarters of the State Security Service, popularly known as Yellow House, is almost adjacent one of the remote gates of the presidential villa.Residents of the nearby Aso Drive area said the gunshots were either coming out of the SSS headquarters or the presidential villa.A resident of the area said,

Man Beheads Retired Chief Justice In Ogun State.

A retired Chief Magistrate in Ogun State, Olufunmilayo Timehin, was on Friday murdered allegedly by her housemaid in Laderin Estate Area of Abeokuta, the state capital.
The help, identified as David, was said to  have been employed by the magistrate a few months ago, but was sent packing by his employer few days ago for allegedly stealing and carting away some household items and property.

The police command in Delta has commenced investigations into the death of two lawyers inside a vehicle at Ozoro, near Warri. The Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP. Celestina Kalu, told reporters in Warri on Friday that it was too early to determine the cause of the death. ”Investigation is still on because they were found dead inside a vehicle.” Kalu said the bodies had been deposited in a hospital in Warri, adding that autopsy would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
