Gun Men Kill Three Policemen In Katsina State

Gunmen on motorcycles on Monday morning shot dead three police officers. The incident happened close to a village, Gidan Mutum Daya, in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State. The village is a border community between Katsina and Kano. A witness, Sa’adu Kabir, who was driving a commercial bus from Kano to Katsina, said it occurred at about 10:00 a.m.

Anglican Church Nigeria Makes Members Take Oath To Denounce Homosexuality

The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has introduced a clause in its constitution subjecting members, who intend to hold positions in church, to take an oath of allegiance to God denouncing homosexuality. The legislation is significant because it applies to members of the laity, clergy and house of bishops of the church.

Boko Haram Strikes Again , As Death Toll In Maiduguri Twin Blasts Increases

Another set of Boko Haram insurgents wreaked havoc in  Mainok,  a village about 50 kilometres   from Maiduguri, Borno State. The insurgents did not only sack the entire village, they killed no fewer than 39 residents. The British Broadcasting Corporation reported that  buildings in  the village  were still on fire while bodies were lying in front of a  mosque waiting to be buried as of Sunday morning.

Nigerian Army Confirms Death Of Soldiers In Maiduguri Attack.

The Nigerian Army Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed the loss of some soldiers in connection with the Boko Haram attack on Abulum, Maiduguri, at the weekend. In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Major General Chris Olukolade, DHQ said the troops were pursuing the militants who were responsible for the attack in Buni Yadi when they engaged in a fierce encounter with the terrorists around Mainok and other locations between Apa and Abulum in Borno State. It said that the death of the soldiers was as a result of the air and land attack launched on the members of the sect, and that some terrorists were also killed in the incident. SR.

At least six robbers laid siege on the Vine Branch Church, Mokola Ibadan today, killing two policemen and potentially losing two of their own men to fatal gun wounds in a failed attempt to steal the church’s Sunday service offering. According to a member of the congregation, the robbers arrived the church at exactly 12:15pm in a Black Toyota Corolla car.
