It was miraculous survival for Mr. Femi Akinsanya in yesterday’s Associated Airlines’ plane crash
Akinsanya, son- in-law of the late former Governor Olusegun Agagu whose body was being conveyed to Akure, the Ondo State capital from Lagos for burial, walked out of the remains of the Embraer 120 aircraft.
Akinsanya, along with his brother in-law, Mr. Feyi Agagu, the late Agagu’s son, were the only family members of the late governor on board the ill-fated plane As it turned out, they were among the seven survivors.

Fear Leads Alot Of Passengers To Cancel Their Flights.
Several intending domestic passengers cancelled their trips on Thursday, after news of the plane crash involving the remains of Dr. Olusegun Agagu, filtered across the country. At the domestic wings of the Lagos airport, hundreds of intending passengers going to Abuja, Port Harcourt and other cities in the country were forced to postpone their journey following the tragic crash. Airlines officials at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Terminal, Two; and Terminal One (old domestic wing said some of the intending passengers cancelled their tickets shortly after hearing the news on arrival at the airport. Others, they said, simply refused to show up at the check-in counters for their flights.

Army Jets Bomb Boko Haram Camp Yobe State
Fighter jets have bombed camps belonging to suspected Islamist militants in northeast Nigeria in response to a massacre of students at an agricultural college, an army spokesman said on Thursday. The Islamist sect Boko Haram is suspected of carrying out the night-time raid on a college in Yobe state on Sunday, in which students were dragged out of their beds and shot. Forty-one were killed. Boko Haram, which has not claimed responsibility for the attack, is fighting to impose an Islamic state in religiously-mixed Nigeria.

How Shameful, Hoodlums Fight Over Money At Crash Site
Some hoodlums on Thursday were seen exchanging blows and throwing bottles at one another over the money they found on the dead victims of the Associated Airline plane crash. When our correspondent got to the scene of the incident, he observed that the hoodlums had turned the road leading to the crash site to a boxing ground. It was learnt that when the hoodlums were assisting in the evacuation of the victims, they allegedly searched the victims’ pockets for money and other valuable things.
Kenyan Muslim Cleric Shot Dead In Mombasa.
A Muslim cleric has been shot dead in the Kenyan port of Mombasa, amid high tensions between the Muslim community and the security forces. Ibrahim Rogo and three other people were shot as they drove home on Thursday night after preaching. The killing is similar to that of Aboud Rogo Mohammed last year, which sparked days of rioting by Muslims. It comes two weeks after the attack on a Kenyan shopping centre, which killed at least 67 people. Somali Islamist group al-Shabab has said it carried out that attack. Aboud Rogo was alleged to have links with al-Shabab and some Muslims accused the security forces of killing him - an allegation they strongly denied. Ibrahim Rogo is seen as the successor to to Aboud Rogo, as he preached at the same mosque.
